This image of subject was taken over 10 years ago for my Portrait Class at Community College of Philadelphia, Photographic Imaging Department. The assignment was using one strobe to light our model for an effect. I decided to shoot and edit the image the image for a more dramatic feel in this Portrait. This is the result.

Because lotuses rise from the mud without stains, they are often viewed as a symbol of purity. Since they return to the murky water each evening and open their blooms at the break of day, lotus flowers are also symbols of strength, resilience, and rebirth.Fun fact, Kamala means lotus and is another name for the Hindu goddess Lakshmi

The North America Nebula derives it's name from it's resemblance to the continental United States, Mexico, and the Gulf of Mexico. The nebula is about 2,600 Light years away in the constellation Cygnus, visible during the summer and fall. On this dewy, fresh morning something compelled me to grab my camera and take a picture as sandhill cranes strolling gracefully through the front yard. Harriet pictured here is, as always, accompanied by Ozzie and their offspring of the season. They have been welcomed morning coffee mates for the last 12 years. The picture captures the calm presence and the dancer's restlessness of these beautiful visitors.

The Great Reno Balloon Race was this weekend. About a dozen balloon are up and aglow before dawn. This beautiful one was my favorite. Most shooting were using auto white balance, cloudy, or 5600K to keep the yellow cast from the flame. I prefer a white balance which retains the true colors of the balloons, especially for this balloon.
